This month's Meeting
On October 28th, Larry Gerdes, CEO of Transcend, will be speaking to our group at the new Buckhead club for our second meeting of the year. The topic for the evening will be Worst to First
- a Service Company Turnaround. Transcend Services provides medical transcription services to the healthcare industry. Company CEO Larry Gerdes will discuss how Transcend, which was losing money and had a less than stellar industry reputation in 2005, became the top performing public company in Georgia in 2007 and the top-ranked medical transcription company in the industry in 2008, with 99% customer retention. Mr. Gerdes will focus on lessons learned along the way, including the shift from a
"technology first" to a "service first" mentality, the unusual decision to adopt the culture of an acquired company and the use of speech recognition technology and offshore resources to improve profitability. Please register via the website as we are filling up quickly.
Free Events Around Town to Consider
The Toronto Stock Exchange is going to be in town this November 18th at the Intercontinental Buckhead to talk about the benefits of going public on the Toronto Exchange. There will be a keynote luncheon, a workshop on going public on TSX, and a networking reception afterward. TSX Group's reach extends internationally, providing the global financial community with access to Canada's equity, energy and fixed income markets.
